

Strictly Kal's Kats jitterbugging
Well now, last night saw us hoof it across to Bedworth for a mighty swing dance for Alistair Fitzgerald and his Strictly Jitterbug crew and what a lovely crew they are. Moreover, it was a pleasure to share the evening with the lovely Eddy Dunn who was celebrating her birthday - and the best bit was Alistair dressed for the barn dance in oversize underpants and a court jester hat looking a million dollars - Eddy - hope you had a great birthday xx


Fish are jumping
Wow, what a brilliant night at The Fishpond pub at Matlock Bath - we were originally playing downstairs in the bar area, but sure enough more and more folks were saying they were going to attend, so we spoke with Victoria at the pub and decided we'd be upstairs at the ballroom. Well, what a night, went down an absolute storm, the place was choc a bloc and some great swing dance moves coming from Red & Ginger as well as the lovely folks who attended. GWR Wartime in the Cotswolds
Swinging from the rafters!!! What a brilliant night on Saturday, we had not long finished the afternoon swing dance with The Kalamazoo Dance Band and then set up for the evening dance with Kal's Kats - we started with Flip flop and Fly and literally within 5 seconds, the entire dance floor and around the tables was literally going nuts. An absolutely fantastic event from start to finish and such a lovely crowd of folks. The amount of feedback has been outstanding and already

Cotswolds it is then
the day before we hit the Cotswolds to play for the GWR Swing dance at Toddington railway station 40's event. Really looking forward to this one, we will start the day as The Kalamazoo Dance Band playing in US army uniforms playing a Tea/swing dance with a mix of ballroom, sequence, latin and jive numbers and mainly featuring our female Vocalist Laura Brookes since she won't be there in the evening. Then we go all quick change to set up as Kal's Kats for the evening big swing


Rising star
We held a rehearsal last night and have a wedding coming up later in the year and a little lass who is 10 turned up with her parents to sing a few numbers to surprise the wedding coupe and guests at the wedding and what a cracking job she did too - lovely to see the youngsters getting stuck into singing and just letting it go without worrying what folks will say and staying abreast of silly peer pressure at school etc. toking forward to the wedding and the surprise this is go


Swing time
Just been away with the band 'oop north' for some recording work - really great to spend some time with these excellent musicians and simply great guys. Exciting times and some new directions ahead.


Retro swing
Crackin' news for Kal's Kats - we've been invited to play at Retrofestival 2017 on the Newark Spitfire stage lineup from 11am to 1.30pm 10th June - After that, we'll be hot footing it to morph into our sister band The Kalamazoo Dance Band to play at Wicksteed at War - all swingin'
